Low Calorie Gnu Bar New Flavors

Happy happy new year to everyone! In case you didn't catch it, I posted a list of some of my favorite low calorie foods for 2010 over the weekend, as a final tribute to 2010. And now, onto many more wonderful postings and food ideas for 2011...

You may or may not know that I’m a “bar” person. No, not the kind where you go in and order a Cosmopolitan or a dry martini!  :) Snack bars or nutrition bars (at least the healthy, low calorie versions), whichever way you want to look at them, are one of my “things”.  I love their compact size and the way that I can toss them in my laptop bag and head out the door without the mess of other types of snacks.  And over the years, I have certainly blogged about many of my favorite low calorie bars -- from 110 calorie chocolate mint pria bars to Fiberful fruit bars that are so delicious and just 60 tiny calories.  Yes, I’m somewhat addicted to the healthy low calorie snack bars – and that’s because I love good food that’s low calorie, tasty, and good for you too!

Did you catch my previous post on Gnu bars?  It was awhile back when I first told you about these great high fiber (and filling!) bars that go great with the weight watchers program.  They are super delicious and chock full of good-for-you ingredients, whole wheat flour and fiber.  And they don’t have any of the bad things – like hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, and high fructose corn syrup.  So why am I exalting their praises once again to my loyal readers? They’ve got two awesome new flavors that you just have to try – Chocolate Espresso and Lemon Ginger (each are 4 weight watchers points plus points)!

Now I told you before that these are available in Orange Cranberry, Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Raisin, Banana Walnut and Chocolate Brownie.  But the introduction of two of my favorite flavors blended into one – espresso and chocolate – is definitely post-worthy! And, the Lemon Ginger is super yummy too! I have found Gnu bars in the past at the Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods (sometimes) and some Trader Joes, or they are available online at Amazon as well.

By the way - I know the new year is a huge time for dieting, eating healthy, etc. so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.

Enjoy!
Juliet
