Kettle Brand Baked Potato Chips & Cuties Giveaway Winners!

kettle baked chips aged cheddarHello and Happy Monday! First of all, I wanted to congratulate the five winners of my Cuties Giveaway (I chose randomly): Karla, KBSL, Simple and Divine, Emily, and Ttnf300. Please send me an email (juliet at yummydietfood.com) with your mailing address, and I'll send it over to the folks at Cuties so you can receive the 5lb bag that you won!

So, I first discovered the delicious taste and texture of Kettle chips at a friend’s party several years ago. In case you’ve never had them Kettle chips are thin, crunchy, sliced pieces of potatoes with just the right amount of seasoning. As much as I loved the chips that day, I hadn’t really eaten many of them since the party due to their somewhat higher calorie content and because there are so many wonderful low calorie baked chips available at the supermarket nowadays – rice chips, baked flat chips, tortilla chips, etc. Now, I definitely don’t advocate eating chips all the time, but I personally like to pair them with a sandwich for lunch sometimes, especially when I had a ton of fruit for breakfast.

Now, I’m not sure if they are new or not, but I recently discovered Kettle Brand BAKED Potato Chips at my local Whole Foods. The flavor I purchased is called Aged White Cheddar, and I was overjoyed to discover that they are just as delicious and crunchy as their non-baked Kettle counterparts.

Like with regular Kettle chips, the baked versions are made from and look like real sliced potatoes. They are also all natural, have no hydrogenated oils or trans fats (like all foods that I blog about), no preservatives, no GMO ingredients, no gluten, and they boast of being made of “only real food ingredients”. The chips also come in a flavor called "Lightly Salted" as well as "Hickory Honey Barbeque".

In the calorie department, each 28 gram serving (about 20 chips!) of the Aged White Cheddar flavor is 120 calories, 3 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber, and 3 grams of protein.

As I mentioned, I found them at Whole Foods but they are also available at other stores (you can find one near you using their store locator link on the Kettle Chip site).

Question for you – If you like chips, what are you favorite kind/flavors?

PS. I'll be blogging about some awesome sweet potato chips next week!

Enjoy!
Juliet

I LOVE Kettle Bakes - both the bbq and the cheddar! And a 1-ounce portion is quite generous.

These are my favorite chips!! I usually buy the lightly salted or the hickory bbq. Delish and very low POINTS for the serving size. I have found them in Trader Joe's, but also in my local Giant and Safeway stores.

Those sound really good. I'm going to have to remember to pick some up soon. I love Pop chips also, they come in salt and pepper (love) and BBQ flavor. I find them at Target. They're very low in fat and they taste fantastic!

Congrats to all your winners! :)

I love Kettle Brand chips, yet have never tried the cheddar variety. My grocery store stocks them though, so I will check them out. Usually I buy the baked, "Lightly Salted" variety - and I love them because they really taste like potatoes and you can't beat that crunch!

I usually go for tortilla chips, but I do like my potato chips in barbecue, cheddar or sour cream and onion. I may have to try these. The NI is great for a potato chip! Thanks for the review!!

Not bad nutrition stats for a chip!

I love bbq chips. My favorite! Tortilla chips are also really good.

I tend to choose popcorn over chips, though... makes me curious about those popchip things.

Juliet, I am a subscriber and love your posts. Mind if I do a little blog about you in the near future?

Wish I'd seen this earlier. I was at Whole Foods today (a 90-minute drive from my house) and would have totally bought these! But that Cuties orange julius recipe you posted the other day is a so delish...Thank you for that. I used tangerines and it worked great. Plus, I'd been freezing my bananas all wrong. Now I know! Thanks so much for this blog. It's one of my favorites :)

These chips are amazing! They taste as close to full fat chips as possible and are made from healthy ingredients... Love all flavors, especially the BBQ. I get them at my local supermarket in the health food/ organic section. I just wish they came in a bigger bag! I go thru lots of them.
