So, a few weeks ago when I went to Whole Foods, I really scoured their breakfast options in search of a two weight watchers point breakfast that would really hit the spot for me. I came across frozen waffles, and felt intrigued, but I thought that most of them would be too high in points for a breakfast before a long day at work (I get hungry a lot during the day no matter how big my breakfast is, so I've decided to stick with small breakfasts to allow for more smaller meals throughout the day).
My favorite frozen waffles to date are Van's Belgian 7 grain waffles, which are 4 points for 2 waffles. But then I saw the box for Van's 97% fat free whole grain waffles, and I turned it over to find a great surprise -- 2 waffles were 140 calories, 2 grams of fat, 4 grams of protein, and 3 grams of fiber, meaning they were only 2 weight watchers points. They also looked a bit bigger than the Belgian ones, which was a huge plus as well. They are also dairy and egg free which is a plus if you have dietary restrictions.
I brought them home and starting making them for breakfast during the week here and there to avoid the monotony of eating cereal every day. I'm quite pleased. I eat them dry which is fine for me, but for those of you with more calories to spare, you could easily spread some syrup, low calorie whipped topping, promise butter spread, apple sauce, or even granola across the waffles. I bet you'd have some other great ideas too (please let me know what they are so I can try them on the weekend).
Lastly, if you are looking for a quick crunchy snack, one of these waffles is only one weight watchers point!
Enjoy!
Juliet

I haven't had a waffle in ages. I wanted to try out the Van's Belgian Waffles, the ones you usually have on Sunday, but haven't had a chance to get them. These will be even better. Thanks Juliet.
so interesting... I think I'll get them to make sandwich. I like crunchy waffles with laughing cow and egg white :D
Juliet, do you know any healthy microwaved popcorn? I'm craving popcorn lately but haven't find a good one without artificial butter flavor.
I've had these waffles! I like them so much more than Kashi waffles. To me, they were so much thicker! Great review!
Low calorie waffles? HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have purchased these before and both Josh and I love them! Everyone- give them a whirl!
Mmm, I like waffles, but haven't had them in forever. I've heard lots of good things about Van's waffles. I like waffles with butter and syrup- recently I had pancakes with peanut butter and it was super tasty; I bet it would taste just as good on waffles!
Hi,
These are the best waffles at two points! Try Cary's Sugar Free Syrup 1/4 cup for 30 cals or Vermont Sugar Free syrup 1/4 cup for 15 cals. I actually crave this breakfast it's so good! These guilt-free syrups are so much better than dry.
:),
