Tip #1: Swear! Apparently someone smart did a study which showed that swearing helps reduce stress levels. My recommendation is to just make sure no one can hear you when you do it!
Tip #2: Eat Fish Oil -- Omega 3 acids not only help make your hair shiny, but also help with stress. You can get omega 3 from fish, nuts, or flax seeds. If you choose to eat flax seeds make sure you grind them up first or else you won’t be able to digest them. Omega 3 fatty acids also come in pill form (aka fish oil), although I personally think it is always better to get nutrients from their natural source whenever possible.
Tip #3: Eat dark chocolate. I love this tip as I am a huge dark chocolate fan. You can eat Trader Joes Chocolate Wedges, a Dagoba tasting square, chocolate covered cocoa nibs, or figamajig bites.
Tip #4: Massage your hoku. I had never heard of my hoku before. Apparently a hoku is the fleshy area between our thumb and our index fingers. Rubbing it for about half a minute is supposed to help with upper-body tension. This tip doesn't work for me unfortunately, but hopefully it will work for you.
Tip #5: Lean back at a 135 degree angle and stretch. I love this one!
Tip #6: Eat some garlic. Garlic contains allicin which is believed to lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Garlic is great in spaghetti sauce, salsa, on a home-made english muffin pizza, or even in a low calorie quesadilla.
Tip #7: Drink some tea. I drink a lot of tea! I think it is a delicious and healthy way to postpone lingering hunger during the day at work. My favorite kind is Good Earth Tea. It has a really strong sweet taste and is delicious.
Tip #8: Laugh! Find something funny on the Internet to read or watch and just let go. It is really good for you and your stress.
Tip #9: "Do It" -- I don't need to say much about this other than that it is really good for both you and your partner. This activity reduces stress and also increases longevity. If this is not an option, then going to the gym is a good alternative as well.
I hope you found this helpful.
Enjoy!

Juliet....did you post this thinking of me? hahahha..... these are so useful!!! I can't agree more on #! and #4. I'll try the other!!!
I'm under some stress as well...guess i'll have to go buy me some dark chocolate ;)
These tips are great and perfect for this time of year! Thanks!
Well this post is certainly timely. I may well need to try all of these tips ... but you know I'm going to start with #3! ;)
This made me smile, I love number 1hahaha :)
I did numbers 1 and 8 (though somewhat maniacally, I'll admit).
Either way, I am so very, VERY done! :)
PS: Did you notice, it's not the *finals* that are so bad here, it's the circumstances that surround them? People stress far more than is healthy, and it really rubs off! Haha.
Bring on the dark chocolate!
You posted this at a good time, since so many of us are taking finals this week!
I need to find a way to eat more fish. Since we're a couple of hours from the coast, it can be expensive...and I get tired of canned tuna!
Stretching, tea, and laughter all do wonders for me. The dark chocolate, of course, goes without saying;) And some healthy swearing from time to time is handy!
Love your tips!! Especially the tip about omgea-3. I never knew that flax seed should be grounded in order to digest. My Kashi Go Lean Honey Almond Flax has whole flax seeds in them, I guess I don't get any benefit from them. =(
Skinny Plate? The teeth-grinding, I think, opens up the flax seeds to release their varied-and-wonderful benefits. :)
Well I didn't know it was called hoku, but this is the only thing that works on my very stressful boyfriend! It is a magic touch! He immediately relaxes when I give him a hand massage specifically between the thumb and index finger!Head massages are also good for fighting stress!
My book is out! I'm so excited!
Loved this!!!! I will definitely be trying to implement these...
And the #1 tip? HAHA i think SO TRUE! =X try to keep it under control though lol
i definitely want to try massaging my hoku. that's so interesting and funny.
i definitely agree with the chocolate tip!!!
Great tips!!
