So, a little while ago I blogged about hummus and pita, one of my favorite snacks. At the time, I decided not to name a favorite (since there are so many good ones, and everyone has a different preference), but a few people have written in, asking me to talk about which low calorie hummus brands I like. So, I've decided to do a quick post about my two of my favorite types of hummus, and you can comment and tell me (and each other) if you like them or not, and what hummus brands *you* LOVE as well.
The first hummus that I love is Sabra classic hummus. This one is slightly higher calorie than other hummuses, but I think it is well worth it! It is really tasty and I think of it as a special treat. Sabra hummus can be purchased at Safeway or Albertsons and is 70 calories for a 2 tablespoon portion (which I think is pretty big!). This comes out to 2 WW points, because it has 6g of fat in each serving.
The second hummus I like a lot is Emerald Valley Organic Hummus. It is slightly less calories and less fat for the same 2 tablespoon portion, coming in at 50 calories. For you weight watchers members out there, it is good to know that this one is only 1 WW point per serving, compared to the 2 WW points for Sabra (it has fiber and less fat). You can buy Emerald Valley Organic Hummus at Whole Foods or Andronicos.
I hope you enjoy my two favorite types of hummus!!

Shopping Tip: The different brands of hummus vary in taste and in calories. You might have to try a few different kinds to find one that you personally love! Many hummuses come in different flavors, some which will be better for you than others. Look at the flavored labels carefully to make sure the added flavor isn't adding too many added calories, fat grams, or unnatural ingredients.

Azar's Roasted Garlic hummus. So far I have only found it at Kroger, but it is the best hummus nutrition-wise that I have found. 37 calories per 2 Tbsp serving, with 5 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. The taste took me a little while to get used to (not bad, just different), but since then I've been addicted to my "super-hummus." =)
Wow! I'll see if I can find it. Thanks. :)
Wild Garden Hummus which I found online while shopping on amazonfresh.com (probably not available in most areas as I think it's local to Seattle) One serving is only 1 pt. The ingredients are simple - just water, chick peas, tahini, sea salt, spices, citric acid and (roasted garlic for the garlic flavor). I found a shelf stable pouch version (Wild Garden Hummus To Go) that is great for travel and lunches that has two servings (2 PTS.)in each at Cost Plus World Market in the section for food gift baskets.

I have purchased Sabra brand hummus at or local Wal-mart Supercenter.
Hey, I can't view your site properly within Opera, I actually hope you look into fixing this.
